Minimalist Home Organization

Have you ever looked at pictures of "minimalist" homes in books which look amazingly bare and thought "I'd hate to live in a boring room like that!" for outdoor privacy screen you can loot another site.

But an organized home doesn't have to be boring. Home organization is about function, not form. Decluttering your home is about disposing of all the objects which you don?t want, don?t like and don?t need. You hold on to the stuff you use, need and love. organizing your home means being able to easily and quickly find the things you?ve decided to hold on to any time you need them. Neither says anything about how your home has to look ? so you can make your decluttered and organized house look just as stylish and beautiful as you want.

Storage doesn't need to be in cabinets, although you probably want a fair amount to be so. It?s a fine idea to mix open and closed storage so that you can contrast a visually calm area of closed storage (hiding the needed but not terribly pretty objects) with a more exciting visual feast of open shelving.

If you?re someone who likes to see a variety of objects ?out?, that?s OK too. Just be aware of how things look when you acquire them, even very ordinary objects like food packets. If you have the choice, buy items which are interesting-looking and even color-coordinated as well as useful.

Even a very random mix of mundane objects can look more organized if you create order by the way you store them. Matching open shelves which cover a large area, especially if the shelving itself is unusual in color or design, can impose an ordered grid on the objects stored in it. The closer together the shelving grid, the more organized it will look. Repeating the wall unit style within the same room, or throughout the house, gives a more designed look.

One important element is to include display space for things you love to look at. These can be displayed in collections, or individually with space around them so that each individual object stands out as something important. Rotating objects to be displayed makes each one more special, as well: you never get so used to seeing it that it disappears.

While we enjoy seeing the posessions we love, there are other objects we don?t need to see and which only make a space look disorganized. Some of the worst offenders here are power and data wires, in their many variations. If you?re redecorating a room from scratch, try to design in concealment from the start ? for example, you could use hollow baseboard systems which act as wiring raceways all around the room, along with many other methods which will work. If you?re simply redecorating an existing room, take every opportunity to hide wires inside furniture and use cable wraps to corral the spaghetti of cables around a lot of computer systems. Try to keep power and data cables separate, as the fields around power cables can cause interference with data.

A great way of checking how you?re doing is to take photos of the room. Our eyes and minds are amazingly good at ?editing out? things we don?t want to see, but a picture shows every detail of how things really appear. Keep organizing and checking with pictures until your home looks how you want it to ? then grab a well-earned rest and relax in your organized AND decorated room!

kitchens design

I suggest starting with one or more of the most vital kitchen accessories to create the largest impact on your space: salt and pepper shakers, kitchen towel sets, and a cutting board. Not only will you see these the most, you'll also utilize them the most.

Cutting boards are available in all forms, big or small with various patterns. The ones I love the most are the tempered glass cutting boards that remain on your counter permanently for a special decorative accent. Also you can choose wooden cutting boards constructed of artisan bamboo. Including or not including a shore-inspired pattern, bamboo surely displays a tropical feel anyway.

A kitchen towel can be for everyday use or it can be for appearances only. They make great room accents and come in a wide variety of styles and colors. You can focus your kitchen theme around your towels, whether they be reminiscent of the ocean or the tropics, and you can get coordinating potholders and such. You might even pick up a matching apron to wear next time you're cooking those lobster tails!

Far and away, the most often utilized thing in the majority of kitchens is salt and pepper shakers. Rather than putting them out of eyesight in a cabinet someplace, you should use them as part of your decor. Keep your beach them salt and pepper shakers ready and displayed on your oven, table, or counter. Palm trees, blue crabs, lighthouses, flamingos, etc. - you may locate a design all highlight all coastal kitchens.

You probably spend a lot of time in your kitchen, right? I know I do. Use some of these simple kitchen accents to turn the heart of your home into your very own seaside sanctuary! We're not talking complete kitchen renovation here. Just a few decorative, yet functional, accessories to give your kitchen a "beach house" feel without breaking the bank.

But if you blend brainy dyed stripes on your walls with see-through patterns on the furniture or fine art work, your room will end up looking like some sort out of circus.
